Tree Lighting At Good Shepherd Sunday Night

The entire community is invited to 5 p.m. ceremony that includes live music and a visit from Santa.

Plainview's annual Christmas Tree lighting ceremony takes place Sunday at 5 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

The community Christmas Tree lighting features the chorus of the Plainview JFK High School, elected and public officials and an appearance by Santa.

Santa's sleigh is provided, as is custom, by members of the Plainview Fire Department. Santa throws the switch and the tree lights up with a thousand points of light.

The entire community is invited to participate in the event, which takes place on the grounds of Good Shepherd's church. There is ample parking. The church is just south of the Plainview Middle School on Central Park Road.
