Mid-Island Y to Honor 2 at Annual Golf Outing

Spots still open for charitable event.

The Mid-Island Y Jewish Community Center has announced it will honor Al Berg, Co-Founder, Marchon Eyewear, Inc. and Rick Lewis, CEO, Mid-island Y JCC, at its 12th Annual Golf Outing on Monday, June 3.

The event will take place at the Pine Hollow Country Club in East Norwich.

Berg is the strategic advisor to the CEO of Vision Service Plan (VSP) and is an investor and philanthropist.  He is the co-founder, former president, CEO, and Chairman of the Board of Marchon Eyewear, Inc, one of the world’s largest eyeglass and sun-glass manufacturers and distributors.

Lewis is the Chief Executive Officer for the Mid-Island Y JCC and joins them with nearly 30 years of experience and a strong business and programming background.

He previously held the position of Associate Executive Director at the Samuel Field Y in Little Neck. During his time there, Rick was part of the team that grew the agency from a $6 million organization with three sites in Queens to an over $20 million organization with programs operating at over 30 sites in New York and a sleep away camp in Poyntelle, PA.

Proceeds from the golf outing will enable the JCC to provide vital social, recreational and cultural activities for all ages of the community. 

The event features 18 holes of golf in a beautiful county club setting, breakfast, lunch and dinner, networking opportunities, exciting contests and giveaways.
