Curtains Up!

Hello readers! Welcome to Local Theatre, a blog about theatre across Long Island! My name is Potoula Anagnostakos. I am a junior at LIU Post, majoring in Journalism, a freelance writer, and a theater geek. I have been involved in theatre for most of my life and I still love to act as hobby. Theatre is a true passion of mine and it's a beautiful form of art, bringing life to stories created on ink and paper. Also, I have a website dedicated to Long Island Theatre, so if you like what you see here, you can check out more at www.islandstages.weebly.com.
There are many great theaters on Long Island that perform extraordinary shows. One theater is the Malverne Community Theatre, MCT for short. David Coonan is the President and Artistic Director of the theatre, which is having a fundraiser on Sunday, August 4th at 4-7pm at Uva Rossa in Malverne. The fundraiser, titled "Cocktails and Curtain Calls" will have food, drinks, a raffle, and a performance of "Fairely Speaking", a comedic short play written by local playwright Steve Strangio. It stars Michael Pagano, Stephannie Ciantro, and James Weippert. Tickets are $40 a person, and you can order them at the door or online at www.malvernetheatre.org.
Come support your local theatre and don't miss out on great entertainment! Stay tuned for more posts on this blog!
