The Libertarian View

News 12 kicks McDermott out of the Congressional Debates in the NY 3rd CD because he isn't a democrat or a republican but an independent libertarian.

Breaking News:  News 12 Long Island excludes Libertarian Michael McDermott from the televised debate held on October 23 between Democrat Steve Israel and Republican Steve Labate!

News 12 has decided which legitimate candidates on the ballot for the November 6 election the voters should hear.  This means they will ony hear from Steve Israel (D) and Steve Labate (R).  McDermott (LBT) who is also on the ballot after submitting over 4200 signatures to the Board of Elections on August 20 will not be heard.

The voters deserve to hear a debate between all of the qualified voters that have attained ballot status, not just the ones preferred by News 12.  The Libertarian Party was formed in 1972 and is the third largest party in the country.

What do you think about a news agency deciding for the voters?

News 12 should let everyone on the ballot in the debate.

Certainly those of us that worked so hard and successfully obtained ballot access! Shame on News 12, really. I have also had a report that News 12 donated $40,000 this year to Steve #1's campaign (Israel).

. What about Anthony Tolda, the Consitution Party nominee. Why aren't you advocating for his participation as well? F2B...me. . . .

On the ballot for the Presidency, Gov. Gary Johnson (Libertarian) and Dr. Jill Stein (Green). Make a special note to remember to watch the Free and Equal Election Debate between third party candidates, Gov. Gary Johnson and Dr. Jill Stein to be aired tonight on Monday evening, Nov. 5th from 9:00 - 10:30 pm Eastern Time. Perform a worthwhile civic duty, and be certain to listen in on this historic debate so that you can make an informed decision on voting day. Third party candidates who will be on the ballot in most states deserve to be heard. http://freeandequal.org/?v=1
