Become a Breast Cancer Ambassador

Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October) is almost here, so please join us for Positively Pink on Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. at LIJ Medical Center’s Patient and Family Education Room in the Katz Lobby. The free breast health education and training program empowers attendees to become Breast Health Ambassadors who promote breast cancer screenings in their neighborhoods.

I’ll cover the importance of early detection and the latest mammogram technology. New York City Councilman Leroy Comrie (Jamaica, Queens) will talk about the need for cancer screenings and a breast cancer survivor will share her story.

Those who complete the training will receive a Breast Cancer Ambassador certificate and have the opportunity to join our Cancer Screening Community Advisory Board. RSVP for Positively Pink by calling 718-470-4165.
