Funeral Tuesday for Youngest Victim of Boating Tragedy

Wake planned in Hicksville Sunday and Monday for Victoria Gaines, 7.

Services have been announced for the youngest of three children who died in a holiday boating accident earlier this week.

The funeral for Victoria Gaines, 7, who died when a 34-foot powerboat sank at the mouth of Oyster Bay, will take place at St. Patrick Church in Huntington July 10 at 9:45 a.m.

Visitation is scheduled Sunday and Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Wagner Funeral Home, located at 125 W. Old Country Rd. in Hicksville.

Well-liked by her classmates and cherished by her friends and teachers, the Washington Primary student by Huntington school district officials.

Also killed in the accident was 11-year-old  of Huntington Station and , 12, of Kings Park.

I have ben living here for over 30 years, and I cannot recall it ever being done. It needs to be done soon, I so agree with you. Maybe Mangano will see this and do something, then again if we lived in Bethpage, it would of been done already.
