2 Freed From Crash in Front of John's Farms Parking Lot

Plainview firefighters pull two victims from wreckage; 3 taken to area hospital. Rescue sequence captured in dramatic photos.

A two-car crash on Old Country Road Friday night in front of parking lot trapped two people inside the wreckage, firefighters said.

responded in force to the scene at 9:30 p.m. with in command. The collision pinned the driver and passenger of one of the cars between the second vehicle and a utility pole.

Firefighters arrived and, using the and hydraulic cutters, had the passenger door of the vehicle "popped" within minutes, eyewitnesses said. The two victims were carefully pulled from that car and taken to an area hospital. Their injuries are not life threatening, firefighters said.

A passenger in the second car was also transported by ambulance to an area hospital with minor injuries. Two others in that car declined medical treatment at the scene, firefighters said.
