have issued composite sketches of two unknown women wanted in connection with a series of deception burglaries that are preying on elderly homeowners throughout the county.
Cops are asking for the public's help in identifying the two women, one of whom was described as having a "bulging," or "wandering," eye.
The pair, which are believed to be working as a team, are wanted in connection with a series of residential that began in December and have continued through January. Police say several incidents have been reported in Nassau County involving the two women. In some cases, the women worked with unknown men.
Their M.O.'s vary: Sometimes they pose as fence workers, or a new neighbor attempting to lure victims into their yard. While one distracts the elderly homeowner, a second person enters the home and steals property that is easily concealed.
In some instances, victims said the suspects used a “walkie talkie.” Several cars have been used in the crimes, including the red vehicle pictured here, a dark minivan (both with Florida license plates) and an older blue/gray sedan.
Police issued the following detailed descriptions:
- Female white/Hispanic, 30 years old, medium build, light-medium complexion with blue eyes.
- Female Hispanic, 45-50 years old, stocky build, medium complexion, dark hair and eyes
- NOTE – One subject may have a bulging or a wandering eye.
