Bank Robbery on South Oyster Bay Road

Peoples United Bank hit just before closing on Tuesday.

Nassau County detectives are investigating a late-afternoon bank robbery on the Hicksville side of South Oyster Bay Road. 

Detectives said a man entered the Peoples United Bank located at 404 South Oyster Bay Road, across from the Woodbury Plaza in Plainview, and made a demand for money to a bank teller. The teller complied, passing an undetermined amount of U. S. currency and the the subject fled on foot southbound through the parking lot.   

The suspect was described as black, 25-30 years old, about 5’ 9” tall, thin build, with a dark complexion. He was wearing a royal blue colored tracksuit, a black colored wool hat and aviator-style sunglasses with silver colored frames, detectives said.

A photo from the bank was not immediately available.

No one was hurt in the incident, which took place just before closing, at about 5:55 p.m. Tuesday.

Richard, I agree. This road has so many potholes that were fixed, it dips and the county trees haveRead More lifted it up in areas that now hold water. I have ben living here for over 30 years, and I cannot recall it ever being done. It needs to be done soon, I so agree with you. Maybe Mangano will see this and do something, then again if we lived in Bethpage, it would of been done already.
