Bethpage Firefighters Hosting Community Meal Friday Night

Bethpage restaurants are contributing enough food to feed hundreds from 5-8 p.m.

Members of the Bethpage Fire Department are hosting a community meal for those in need Friday night at fire headquarters on Broadway.

Organized by Firefighter Charlie Razenson, the hot meals have been donated by Bethpage-area restaurants. The fire house can accommodate several hundred people. The food and companionship are free.

Firefighters organized the event to provide a decent hot meal to area residents impacted by Hurricane Sandy and its aftermath, that has left thousands in the dark in and around Bethpage.

The firehouse is at 225 Broadway, Bethpage. The fire department is under the command of Chief of Department James Baudille.

Editor's Note: In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy's devastation, Patch wants to write about some of the great things the community is doing to pull together against the odds. We have several stories planned this weekend. Send us your ideas and submissions to joe.dowd@patch.com.
