A 34-year-old man on a bicycle was critically injured on South Broadway in Hicksville Tuesday after being struck by a car.
Nassau County detectives said the cyclist was riding southbound on South Broadway when he was struck by a northbound 2003 Ford just before 10 a.m.
The driver of the Ford, identified as a 76-year-old man, was turning left onto Lauman Lane when the collision occurred, police said
Emergency crews transported the victim to an area hospital. Police said the man was listed in critical condition.
The vehicle was impounded for routine brake and safety checks, but detectives report no apparent criminality at this time.
