Car Becomes Wedged Beneath Truck

Plainview firefighters respond to unusual collision; driver reported OK.

A car collided with a truck in a Plainview parking lot Tuesday and became wedged beneath the truck's gas tank, firefighters said.

The incident took place at 1660 Old Country Road. The driver was not seriously hurt but was transported to a local hospital, firefighters said.

A Nassau County Haz-Mat team was called to assist Plainview firefighters in draining fuel contained in the right saddle tank. The tank had ruptured in the collision. Firefighters managed to free the car from beneath the truck and secured the scene.
