SUV Plows Shrubs at Plainview Park

Driver apparently lost control; no injuries reported

An unidentified driver lost control of a vehicle which then crashed into shrubbery at the Thursday.

The incident happened about 5 p.m. Thursday at the entrance to the park, on Washington Avenue in Plainview, according to eyewitnesses.

No injuries were reported and damage to the park was minimal, officials said.

The white SUV plowed across shrubbery near the park's entrance sign and came to rest in between two trees.

Nassau County Police and Oyster Bay Public Safety officers responded to the crash but few details were available Friday morning. The damaged vehicle was towed away.
