Cars Collide, One Flips on Old Country Road

Violent collision ties up morning commute; two people hospitalized.

A violent crash Thursday sent two people to an area hospital and snarled morning traffic at one of Plainview's busiest intersections.

Plainview firefighters responded to the two-car auto crash and found one of the vehicles overturned at the intersection of Manetto Hill and Old Country roads. The crash was reported just before 8:20 a.m. Thursday.

Two people were injured and transported to NUMC; their conditions were unavailable. Firefighters secured both cars and applied speedy dry to fluid spills in the roadway, firefighters said.

Old Country Road was closed eastbound for a while, backing traffic up to Route
135 and stalling traffic westbound to Round Swamp Road during the morning commute.
