Cops: 17 Car Related Crimes in 2 Weeks

Cars stolen and vandalized in Syosset, Woodbury, and Jericho.

Nassau County Police reported 17 different car related crimes in Plainview and neighboring communities within a 15-day period.

In total, three cars were stolen, five cars had personal belongings stolen from them, and nine cars sustained damage and vandalism.

A car's tires and rims were stolen in Plainview, tires were slashed on a car in Bethpage, and three cars were stolen entirely in Woodbury and Hicksville.

Here is the full list of crimes involving cars:

  • Sept. 7: Grand larceny; Yukon Drive, Woodbury; car stolen.
  • Sept. 11: Grand larceny; W. John Street, Hicksville; car stolen.
  • Sept. 17: Grand larceny; Westbury Jeep Storage, Hicksville; car stolen.
  • Sept. 4: Petit larceny; Lee Avenue, Hicksville; license plates stolen from car.
  • Sept. 7: Petit larceny; Revillo Road, Bayville; cash stolen from car.
  • Sept. 14: Petit larceny; Norcross Avenue, Bethpage; handicap parking permit stolen.
  • Sept. 14: Petit larceny; Irene Lane South, Plainview; tires and rims stolen from car.
  • Sept. 16: Oak Street, Hicksville; bedliner removed from truck.
  • Sept. 19: Petit larceny; Oakwood Avenue, South Farmingdale; navigation system stolen from car.
  • Sept. 7: Criminal mischief; Lambert Avenue, South Farmingdale; windshield broken on car.
  • Sept. 12: Criminal mischief; Jolan Avenue, Seymour Lane, Hicksville; scratches on car.
  • Sept. 11: Criminal mischief; Pickwick Drive North, Syosset; hood and bumper damaged on car.
  • Sept. 11: Criminal mischief; Jericho Motel, Jericho; scratches on car.
  • Sept. 12: Criminal mischief; Hempstead Turnpike, Bethpage; hood damaged on car.
  • Sept. 12: Criminal mischief; Fox Place, Hicksville; window damaged on car.
  • Sept. 14: Criminal mischief; BAE Systems, Jericho; tires slashed on car.
  • Sept. 17: Criminal mischief; Hip Center, Hicksville; window broken on car.
  • Sept. 19: Criminal mischief; South Brittany Drive, Bethpage; tire slashed on car.

Richard, I agree. This road has so many potholes that were fixed, it dips and the county trees haveRead More lifted it up in areas that now hold water. I have ben living here for over 30 years, and I cannot recall it ever being done. It needs to be done soon, I so agree with you. Maybe Mangano will see this and do something, then again if we lived in Bethpage, it would of been done already.
