Cops Arrest Hicksville Man in Slashing

Nassau Detectives charge local man with attack on 34-year-old victim.

A Hicksville man has been charged with a knife attack on a commuter that took place near the Long Island Rail Road station in Hicksville early July 4.

Nassau County detectives arrested Jonny Turcios, 23, of 100 E. Marie St., Hicksville, in connection with the attack which took place around 1:30 a.m. on Monday.

Turcios is charged with second-degree assault and possession of a dangerous weapon, police said.

Nassau detectives were hunting three suspects in connection with the attack that took place early Monday near the Hicksville Train Station.

A 34-year-old male was walking home from the Long Island Rail Road station in Hicksville just before 1:30 a.m. through a private parking when he was accosted by three unknown men.

One of the suspects produced a knife and slashed the victim in the left arm and hand, police said. The incident took place in the rear of 55 Broadway.

The three suspects fled the scene. The victim was transported by police ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries, detectives said.

Turcios is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
