Nassau County Police detectives say a 23-year-old neighbor is responsible for three nearby burglaries, including one where he invaded the home of a sleeping woman who chased him screaming from her home.
Detectives with the Eighth Precinct charged Kristopher Lospitalier, 23, of 80 S. Millpage Dr. Bethpage in connection with the Feb. 1 incident.
In that case, a feisty 62-year-old woman was awakened from an afternoon nap by an intruder. The woman screamed and chased the man from her bedroom, said. The woman was unharmed; the suspect fled through her backyard.
During the subsequent probe, detectives learned that Lospitalier was also responsible for an attempted burglary and the burglary of two other residences on S. Millpage Drive in the first week of February. He was arrested Monday at his home without incident.
Lospitalier is charged with two counts of burglary and one count of attempted burglary. He will be arraigned today at First District Court, Hempstead.
