Cops: Burglaries Surge Nearby

Hicksville, Farmingdale among communities victimized.

A surge in burglaries was reported near Plainview last week, cops said.

According to Nassau County Police, 11 burglaries were reported within the Second Precinct in Hicksville, Levittown, Farmingdale, and Wantagh.

A single robbery was also reported in Hicksville. The victim told police that a Chase Bank card was stolen from them on South Broadway, according to police.

While robberies fell compared to previous weeks, burglaries multiplied.

The Second Precinct reported the following crimes:

  • April 2: Burglary; Wing Lane, Wantagh; attempted break-in, window pried, alarm sounded.
  • April 3: Burglary; China Wok, Levittown; cash stolen.
  • April 3: Burglary; Choopan Grill, Hicksville; kitchen window broken, three bags of chicken wings stolen.
  • April 4: Burglary; Gourmey Wok, Hicksville; cash register, cash stolen.
  • April 5: Burglary; East John Street, Hicksville; two GPS, TV, backup camera stolen.
  • April 6: Burglary; Chennai Dosas, Hicksville; front glass broken, nothing taken.
  • April 6: Burglary;  9th Avenue, South Farmingdale; assorted jewelry, cash stolen and recovered. (This arrest was part of a much bigger story: see it here.)
  • April 6: Burglary; Bloomingdale Road, Hicksville; motorcycle stolen.
  • April 7: Burglary; Chiung How, Farmingdale; cash stolen.
  • April 7: Burglary; Hunan Dynasty, Levittown; front door glass broken, nothing taken.
  • April 8: Burglary; Loring Road, Levittown; assorted jewelry stolen.
  • April 9: Robbery; South Broadway, Hicksville; Chase Bank card stolen.
