Cops Investigating Plainview Bank Robbery

The robbery occurred Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Nassau police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. in Plainview.

Detectives say a man entered the Bank of America at 565 S. Oyster Bay Road, approached a teller and verbally demand for money. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the man fled the bank and was last seen on foot heading eastbound on Island Street.

The man is described as black, 5-foot-8 and in his 20s. He was wearing a dark colored “True Religion” t-shirt, dark baseball cap with a light colored rim and holding a white t-shirt up to his face.

During the robbery there were five employees present, police said. No injuries were reported.

Detectives request anyone with information regarding this incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
