Cops: Old Bethpage Middle School Student Assaulted

Police have not confirmed the nature of the assault, which they said happened last week.

Police requested supervision for an Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School student that was allegedly assaulted last week off school grounds, reported Nassau County Detectives.

Detectives reported that police were called Wednesday to record a report of an assault of a student. Police said the assault occurred at some point last week. The nature of the assault and the identity of the student have not been confirmed by police.

Plainview-Old Bethpage Superintendent Lorna Lewis said in a statement Thursday:

This is a matter that concerns an alleged incident that occurred outside of our schools and was reported to us. Our fantastic staff at Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School responded in a caring way to take care of the student’s need, and reported the matter to the appropriate authorities in full accordance with established school procedures.

There are no further details at this time, according to police.

I have ben living here for over 30 years, and I cannot recall it ever being done. It needs to be done soon, I so agree with you. Maybe Mangano will see this and do something, then again if we lived in Bethpage, it would of been done already.
