Cops: Rash of Car Vandalism

Second Precinct reports tires slashed, windows broken in and near Plainview.

Various vandals broke windows and slashed tires in and around the Plainview area, according to police.

Nassau County Police reported eight incidents of criminal mischief involving cars in the Second Precinct in a span of five days.

The severity of the acts ranged from broken windows on cars parked in commercial areas to slashed tires in residential neighborhoods.

Polce did not specify that the acts were related.

The Second Precinct reported the following incidents:

  • Feb. 6: Criminal mischief; Macy's, Hicksville; window broken on car.
  • Feb. 7: Criminal mischief; Lawrence Street, Farmingdale; tires slashed on car.
  • Feb. 8: Criminal mischief; Wantagh Avenue, Wantagh; unspecified damage to car.
  • Feb. 9: Criminal mischief; Ceba Maintenance, Bethpage; tires slashed.
  • Feb. 9: Criminal mischief; Rembrandt's Bar, Hicksville; window broken on car.
  • Feb. 10: Criminal mischief; Miller Place, Levittown; window broken on car.
  • Feb. 12: Criminal mischief; Jericho Plaza, Jericho; window broken on car.
  • Feb. 12: Edgewood Drive, Syosset; tires slashed on car.

I have ben living here for over 30 years, and I cannot recall it ever being done. It needs to be done soon, I so agree with you. Maybe Mangano will see this and do something, then again if we lived in Bethpage, it would of been done already.
