Cops Seek Help in Bethpage Drug Store Heist

need the public’s help in identifying two people in connection with a grand larceny that took place at a Bethpage drug store more than a year ago.

Detectives from the are investigating the case which involves the theft of significant amounts of cold medication.

The theft took place more than a year ago, on Monday, Jan. 2, 2011 about 12:15 p.m. Nassau police said. The suspects in the surveillance photos were observed inside CVS located at 308 Broadway, Bethpage. These subjects took the cold medication and left without paying for it. Then, they fled the scene.

The active ingredient in many over-the-counter cold and cough medications is dextromethorphan, or "Dex." It is also known on the street as "Robo," "Triple Cs," "Skittles," and "Red Hots." Drug addiction experts say the use of these readily available drugs by teenagers is rampant.
