Cops Seek Public's Help Finding Bethpage Bank Robber Wearing Obama Cap

The robbery occurred on July 2, police said.

Nassau Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating a man they say robbed a Bethpage bank wearing a “Barack Obama” baseball cap.

On July 2 at 11:40 a.m., a man entered the Chase Bank at 4276 Hempstead Turnpike in Bethpage, and verbally demanded money from a teller while passing a demand note, according to police.

The man took the money and then fled the scene in an awaiting two-tone brown SUV whose license plate number is unknown, police said.

The suspect, pictured here, is described as in his late 30s to early 40s, about 5’9” and 170 pounds. He was wearing a blue button down long sleeve shirt, dark jeans and a brown “Barack Obama” cap with an image of the president's face on it. He was not wearing gloves, police said.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest. If you have information, call 1-800-244-TIPS (8477) or Nassau County’s robbery squad at 516-573-8040. All calls will remain anonymous, police said.
