Cops: Two Men Charged with Burglary at Hicksville High School

Two Hicksville men were arrested Wednesday for a burglary that took place Tuesday at 4:20 p.m. in Hicksville High School, authorities said.

According to detectives, Nassau  were called to Hicksville High School to investigate two men who were in the locker room going through bags.  When police arrived, they identified Karn Chauhan, 19, 0f 202 1st Street, Hicksville, as one of the men who had taken two cell phones from separate bags.  Police say that Chauhan had been informed in the past that he was not allowed on school property.  He was arrested at scene without incident.  

Through an investigation it was determined that Joseph Ferguson, 18, of 14 Glenbrook Road, Hicksville, was the second person involved in the incident, police say.  He was located on Wednesday at 11:38 p.m. at his residence and placed under arrest without incident.

The cell phones were returned to the victims.

Both men are charged with third-degree burglary.  Chauhan was scheduled for arraigned on Wednesday and Ferguson on Thursday, at First District Court in Hempstead.
