Babylon Village

For the second time in two weeks, and third time in seven months, the Capital One Bank in Babylon Village was robbed Saturday afternoon, police said.

A man entered the Little East Neck Road bank building at about 2 p.m. and demanded cash. The teller complied and the robber fled on foot through a rear entrance, police said.

The suspect is described as a thin-built male, about 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, 50 years old and wearing a dark blue Yankees hat, sunglasses, a blue pullover shirt and jeans.

On July 16, the same bank was robbed in mid day.

Levittown

A Levittown man was arrested by police Friday after he was caught vandalizing a sign pertaining to the Aug. 1 Nassau Coliseum vote.

Thomas Calderone was observed by Nassau County police attempting to write "No" over a sign telling residents to "Vote Yes" for referendum at 500 N. Broadway in Jericho. The sign is owned by the New York Islanders.

Calderone is being charged with one count of making graffiti, one count of possessing a graffiti instrument and one count of unlawfully posting advertising.

Northport

A man suspected of six bank robberies was arrested by Suffolk County police Friday.

Michael Walsh, 58, of East Elmhurst, Queens was charged him with two counts of first degree robbery. He is suspected in bank robberies in Suffolk, Nassau and upstate, including one in Northport and another in East Northport.

East Northport

Christopher Cipoletti, 26, of East Northport, was arrested Tuesday afternoon and charged with third degree robbery and fourth degree attempted grand larceny.

Police say Cipoletti jumped into the passenger side of a car at the drive thru ATM, located at 271 Larkfield Road in East Northport. The bandit claimed he had a gun before making off on foot with cash from a woman who was withdrawing money.

Cipoletti was also implicated in an unsuccessful robbery attempt on the same day of a man making a withdrawal from the ATM at at 385 Larkfield Road. 

Huntington

A Huntington Station worker was accused of assaulting a musician after a show Saturday night. Police said Jalaluddin Khojandi, 25, assaulted Michael Hargreaves, of Southampton, with a crowbar at approximately 3:45 a.m. Sunday.  Khojandi was arrested later in the day in Huntington Station.

Merrick

On July 23, Ryan Groh, 18, of Merrick, was arrested on Frankel Boulevard in Merrick and charged with three counts of robbery in the first degree, assault in the second degree, two counts of menacing in the second degree, petit larceny and three counts of possession of a dangerous weapon in the fourth degree. The arrest stemmed from an incident on July 20 during which Groh allegedly stole $80 from a convenience store on Merrick Road in Merrick while armed with a BB gun.

Seaford

Fifteen bottles of Oil of Olay ProX Anti-Aging Cream was stolen from on 2250 Seamans Neck Rd. on July 23.
