Crime Report: TD Bank Robbery, Restaurants Burglarized

Patch reports on crimes in and around Plainview.

Restaurants were targeted in several burglaries within one week in the Plainview area, according to Nassau County Police.

Detectives at the Second Precinct said that of six of 11 reported burglaries last week targeted local restaurants, including Chinese Star Kitchen in Plainview.

Police also reported that the Plainview TD Bank was robbed and that the suspect had fled.:

Police were alerted to the robbery at the corner of Old Country and South Oyster Bay Road about 3 p.m. Thursday. Bank officials reported a man approached a teller and passed a note demanding cash. Full story and description of the suspect here.

  • Jan. 12: Grand larceny; Cold Spring Nursing Home, Woodbury; gold ring with ruby and diamonds stolen.
  • Jan. 14: Robbery; Broadway Mall, Hicksville; wallet, cash, Metrocard, train ticket stolen.
  • Jan. 16: Burglary; Punjabi Aabad House, Hicksville; Acer laptop stolen.
  • Jan. 17: Burglary; Linden Avenue, Hicksville; cash, two rings stolen.
  • Jan. 17: Robbery; TD Bank, Plainview; cash stolen from teller.
  • Jan. 17: Grand larceny; Railroad Avenue, Syosset; various high end shoes stolen.
  • Jan. 17: Grand larceny; AT&T, Woodbury; iPad mini, Galaxy tablet stolen.
  • Jan. 18: Grand larceny; BMW dealer, Westbury; eight sets of tires stolen.
  • Jan. 18: Burglary; Cambridge Avenue, Bethpage; assorted jewelry, collectables, shot gun stolen.
  • Jan. 18: Burglary; Bluebird Lane, Plainview; rear door entry attempted, nothing taken.
  • Jan. 19: Grand larceny; Legend Nissan, Syosset; eight sets of tires stolen.
  • Jan. 19: Burglary; Ho Hing Kitchen, Hicksville; window broken, cash stolen.
  • Jan. 19: Burglary; Chinese Star Kitchen, Plainview; front door glass broken, cash stolen.
  • Jan. 19: Burglary; China 3, Bethpage; cash, Samsung TV stolen.
  • Jan. 19: Burglary; Sam Ash Music, Hicksville; hole in sheet rock, nothing taken.
  • Jan. 19: Burglary; China Inn, Bethpage; front door glass broken, tip jar stolen.
  • Jan. 21: Burglary; Chinese restaurant, South Farmingdale; rear door pried, nothing taken.
  • Jan. 21: Grand larceny; BJs Wholesale, Levittown; nine cases of Similac baby formula stolen.
  • Jan. 22: Burglary; Mulberry Street restaurant, Jericho; cash, wooden drawer containing coins stolen.

Richard, I agree. This road has so many potholes that were fixed, it dips and the county trees haveRead More lifted it up in areas that now hold water. I have ben living here for over 30 years, and I cannot recall it ever being done. It needs to be done soon, I so agree with you. Maybe Mangano will see this and do something, then again if we lived in Bethpage, it would of been done already.
