Driver Smashes into Manetto Hill Road Home

Firefighters free injured driver from wreckage.

A driver lost control of his car on Manetto Hill Road Monday morning, plowed across an adjacent yard and crashed into a house.

Plainview firefighters and Nassau County Police responded to the emergency just after 9 a.m. They found the victim trapped inside the car, which had struck the front porch of the house, located just north of Washington Avenue near the Y JCC.

Emergency crews had to shore up the porch of the home in order to safely extricate the trapped driver.

The man was transported to Nassau University Medical Center. The extent of of injuries could not be immediately learned.

The Town of Oyster Bay's building department was notified to inspect the structural damage to the home.

The cause of the accident was under investigation.
