Unless you have a concealed carry permit, which I highly doubt you do, then you CANNOT carry in public. Wait until I send a copy of this post to the 2nd precinct....they're gonna be all over you! And if you do have a concealed carry permit, you shouldn't because there's no way you would qualify because you have no reason to. In that case, I'll send a copy of this post to the license bureau. Thanks for the info, dolt.

Jim, you might be legitimately retarded. the purpose of concealed carry is to carry inconspicuously. Any asshole who goes through the process of being able to own a handgun can carry "in plain sight" without a concealed carry permit hence the word "concealed".

John - in NY state, you CANNOT carry in plain sight or concealed UNLESS you have a concealed carry permit. This isn't Texas, you do notice that people don't walk around with a holster on their hip, right? The point is, either way you CAN'T carry in public, concealed or otherwise, unless you have a permit. And if you do have a permit, you can't walk around with it in public view - so the only way for a citizen to carry is concealed. I think you are the retard. By the way, I have family in law enforcement.

In other words, in NY City & Long Island there is no such thing as being able to carry "in plain sight" as you put it.
