Cars continued to be targeted by theifs in and around Plainview.
The Second Precinct reported 11 car-related crimes within one week. Incidents varied in severity, ranging from sunglasses and Apple computer chargers being taken from cars to grand theft auto.
"It takes less than a minute for a thief to break your car window and snatch the iPod, laptop or purse on the front seat," according to Nationwide.

In Plainview, plates were taken off a car on Sagamore Street Jan. 31.
The Second Precinct reported the following crimes:
- Jan. 30: Petit larceny; Rhona Terrace, South Farmingdale; Maui Jim sunglasses stolen from car.
- Jan. 31: Grand larceny; Rallye BMW, Westbury; tires and rims stolen from car.
- Jan. 31: Petit larceny; Division Avenue, Levittown; iPad stolen from car.
- Jan. 31: Petit larceny; Sagamore Street, Plainview; two plates stolen from car.
- Feb. 2: Millford Drive, Levittown; car stolen.
