A Plainview family was forced to flee their home Tuesday night when a fire started in a wall of the two-story house on Julliard Drive.
responded to the initial call for help shortly after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday and found smoke billowing from the home at 18 Julliard Drive. The home was being renovated at the time.
Firefighters under the command of stretched two hose lines to the front door and conducted an interior search of the house as an aerial ladder was extended to the roof.
Inside, firefighters the source of the fire and knocked it down, firefighters said. Crews ventilated the smoke by removing temporary plywood coverings on the second floor being used to enclose the home during the renovations.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
