Fire Outside Ignites Bethpage Home

Firefighters arrive to find attic ablaze; Bethpage and Plainview work together at the scene.

A fire that began in an alley spread to an adjoining home in Bethpage Friday afternoon. 

responded to a house fire on Farmers Avenue at 4:40 p.m. and discovered the fire had extended into the second floor and attic area of the home. The fire may have started in a garbage can, firefighters said.

The was called to the scene to assist with Ladder 953 and the fire was quickly brought under control.

Neighbors helped escort the elderly occupant out of her home. The woman was not injured.

The operation was under the command of Bethpage Chief of the Department James Baudille, Sr.

I have ben living here for over 30 years, and I cannot recall it ever being done. It needs to be done soon, I so agree with you. Maybe Mangano will see this and do something, then again if we lived in Bethpage, it would of been done already.
