quickly located and stopped an attic fire from spreading Friday.
Responding to a call at 9:12, a.m., Firefighters arrived at the Nautilus Avenue home and found smoke coming from the attic. An additional alarm was transmitted as firefighters searched the home for occupants and a line was stretched from a nearby hydrant to the front door.
Pulling ceilings inside, firefighters rapidly located the fire and put it down, authorities said.
No injuries were reported. The cause is undetermined.
Firefighters from Bethpage and Hicksville were called in to assist at the scene.
1st Deputy Chief was in command of the operation; 2nd Deputy was in command of the interior operation.
The Fire Marshall is conducting a routine investigation to learn the cause of the fire.
