The cause of the fire is under investigation but is believed related to the earlier transformer explosion off Hope Drive that set trees on fire and caused the Plainview Hopsital to lose power for a period overnight. A fire marshall responded to the scene for the investigation. The fire appears electrical in nature, firefighters said.

Firefighters from Bethpage responded with a ladder truck to the scene. Bethpage and Hicksville stood by in Plainview's Headquarters.
