Gunman Robs Plainview Bank of America

Man walks into branch on South Oyster Bay Road, displays gun; flees with cash.

A man walked into the Bank of America branch in Plainview Saturday morning, displayed a black handgun to a teller and made off on foot with cash, Nassau Police said.

Nassau detectives said the bank job took place just after 9 a.m. Saturday when the man entered the bank at 565 South Oyster Bay Road displayed the handgun and presented a note demanding money to a female teller.

The victim complied, handing over an unknown amount of U.S. currency. The subject fled the scene on foot northbound on South Oyster Bay Road.

The subject is described as a white male, about 40 years of age, 5’10”, medium build, wearing a green baseball cap with the word “OPUS” displayed across the front. He wore black sunglasses, a red zippered sweatshirt and tan pants.

Five employees were inside the bank during the time of the robbery. There were no injuries reported.
