Hempstead Man Charged in Armed Rape, Robbery at Days Inn

Cops: Attack on 19-year-old victim took place in May at South Oyster Bay Road motel.

A Hempstead man has been charged with a brutal sexual assault and robbery in May of a 19-year-old woman in a nearby Hicksville motel.

Following a month-long investigation, Nassau County Detectives from the robbery, special victims and narcotics squads charged Anthony Leazer, 28, of 47 Carolina Ave., Hempstead, with the armed robbery and sex attack at the Days Inn, on South Oyster Bay Road, just across the Plainview line near Stewart Avenue.

Detectives took Leazer into custody on Tuesday, June 12, in Westbury.

The attack took place shortly before midnight on May 11 at the motel, when Leazer, armed with a handgun, robbed and sexually assaulted the young woman, detectives said.

Richard, I agree. This road has so many potholes that were fixed, it dips and the county trees haveRead More lifted it up in areas that now hold water. I have ben living here for over 30 years, and I cannot recall it ever being done. It needs to be done soon, I so agree with you. Maybe Mangano will see this and do something, then again if we lived in Bethpage, it would of been done already.
