Hicksville Man Charged in Restaurant Burglary

Suspect walked in rear door and removed cash, cops say.

A Hicksville man is charged with sneaking in the back door of a restaurant and taking cash from the register, Nassau County Police said.

Scott Gilmor, 37, of Cortland Avenue, Hicksville entered La Finca restaurant at 170 Broadway in Hicksville through a rear door on the morning of July 4, police said. Gilmor removed an undetermined amount of cash from the register and fled in an unknown direction.

Following an investigation, detectives arrested Gilmor at his home Monday without incident.

Gilmor is charged with 3rd-degree burglary, a class "D" felony; he is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
