Hicksville Man Killed in Garden City Crash

Victim is third pedestrian killed in less than a week with local connections.

A Hicksville man attempting to cross Stewart Avenue in East Garden City was fatally struck by a car Monday night.

Justin Pistoia, 24, of Hicksville, was crossing Stewart Avenue near Endo Boulevard when he was struck by a 2012 Ford sedan around 7:50 p.m., Nassau detectives said. The scene of the accident is near the on-off ramps to the Meadowbrook Parkway.

Nassau County Police Ambulance transported Pistoia, who suffered internal injuries, to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:54 p.m.

The driver of the car, a 67-year-old woman, was not charged in the incident, police said. No one else was hurt.

Pistoia is the third pedestrian killed in the last week with connections to the Hicksville area.

On Friday, was killed in the parking lot of Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church off South Oyster Bay Road.

Then, on Saturday, of Hicksville, was crossing Newbridge Road near Elmira Street when she was struck and killed by a southbound driver.

No charges were brought in either of those cases, as well.
