Man, 82, Missing From Old Bethpage Home

Police issue Silver Alert for Arthur Debono.

An 82-year-old man from Old Bethpage was reported missing early Monday after leaving his home and driving away in an unknown direction.

Nassau County Police issued a Silver Alert for Arthur J. DeBono, 82, of Old Bethpage, who was last seen driving off in his 1994 Buick Century on Sunday.

DeBono, wearing tan pants, a light colored sweater, navy wool hat, sneakers and a light colored jacket, may have been headed to a location on Martin Drive in East Islip, police said.

DeBono is further described as 5'10," weighing about 160 pounds with grey hair and hazel eyes.

A Silver Alert is issued by police to local media, hospitals and other organizations when a senior citizen or other individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or other cognitive disorders goes missing, police said.

If you've seen Mr. DeBono, call 911.

The silver alert failed. he was not found by the police because the tri state police did not recieve the alert. a gas station employee in NJ found him a day later and call the police who then call the police in nassau because of info he had on him. The Silver Alert failed. it only went out to nassau and suffolk police --- no one else----the patch should like into this for our future lost seniors.
