Police Investigating Plainview Burglary

Nassau Police is is seeking the public's help in investigating a burglary that occurred in Plainview on Monday, at 2 a.m.

Second Squad detectives say a 61-year-old female heard a noise in her Maxine Avenue residence while watching television in her bedroom. When she went down stairs, she saw an unknown male standing in her living room. The woman screamed, prompting the man to run out of the house in an unknown direction, police said.

The man is described as white, 6-feet tall with a thin build and was wearing dark clothing and a dark knit hat. 

There were no injuries reported. It was later determined that credit cards and an undisclosed amount of money had been removed from the woman's wallet that was left in her 2000 Mercedes Benz, which was parked in her attached garage.

Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to contact the Nassau County Police Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
