Power Lines Downed by Afternoon Storm

Customers in vicinity of Virginia Avenue lose power.

A swiftly moving storm knocked down tree limbs and power lines on the west side of Plainview Sunday, causing local outages.

Plainview firefighters responded to the late afternoon call at a home on Virginia Avenue and found the tangle of wires draped around cars and driveways, firefighters said.

A number of people lost power in the area for a time.Some traffic signals on South Oyster Bay Road went dark, as well.

LIPA crews were working to restore the outages.

I have ben living here for over 30 years, and I cannot recall it ever being done. It needs to be done soon, I so agree with you. Maybe Mangano will see this and do something, then again if we lived in Bethpage, it would of been done already.
