Since the holiday weekend there have been three serious motor vehicle accidents on the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway in the vicinity of Plainview.
One was a fatal crash involving a Massapequa man who police said had been drinking.
Then, Wednesday, Plainview firefighters responded to an overturned automobile involving four area teenagers. Fortunately, the young people suffered only minor injuries in the crash near the Wallace Drive exit.
Then, Thursday, police said another car flipped over near Exit 7 in Bethpage. Two people were raced to a local hospital in that incident, which occurred around 4:30 p.m. There conditions were unavailable early today.
Route 135 is a straight, three-laned highway, a quick, convenient path to the North or South Shore from Plainview. What do you think is going on? Is this just a bad stretch of luck? Or is something else an issue that we as a community need to address?
