St. Patrick's Parade Draws Firefighters and Fun to Bethpage

Thousands from Long Island participated in this year's event Sunday.

The Bethpage St. Patrick's Parade drew thousands of people to the community Sunday who saw scores of marching units and floats.

Firefighters from Plainview, Bethpage, Plainedge and all over Long Island participated along with a wide variety of civic organizations, marching through a chilly rain through the streets of Bethpage.

Marching units from all over Long Island participated in the parade, which began following a Mass at St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church. The parade took marchers from Central Avenue to Stewart, then to Burkhardt and Broadway. A host of dignitaries were on hand, including County Executive Ed Managano, who served as grand marshall.
