A driver apparently lost control and flipped over her Nissan Pathfinder Wednesday afternoon on South Oyster Bay Road.
Traffic was tied up in the area as and Nassau County Police responded to the scene at the intersection of Jamaica Avenue about 1:30 p.m., authorities said.
The driver managed to free her self from the vehicle and appeared uninjured.
Nassau Police called off the fire department response and had the damaged vehicle removed from the roadway. As a precaution, the woman was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
South Oyster Bay Road was closed for about 30 minutes until the car could be removed.
