Two Hurt in Violent Crash in Hicksville

Jerusalem Avenue blocked as firefighters free trapped victim.

Two people were hurt Wednesday in a serious two-car crash on Jerusalem Avenue in Hicksville.

Hicksville Firefighters and Nassau County Police responded to the call at 8:25 p.m. at the corner of Jerusalem Avenue and Walnut Lane.

Hicksville fighters used the "Jaws of Life" and hydraulic cuttters to free the driver of a crumpled Nissan Sentra, firefighters said.

The trapped driver and the operator of the second vehicle were both transported to Nassau University Medical Center. There conditions were not immediately available.

Jerusalem Ave was shut down southbound while police investigated the cause of the crash.

Richard, I agree. This road has so many potholes that were fixed, it dips and the county trees haveRead More lifted it up in areas that now hold water. I have ben living here for over 30 years, and I cannot recall it ever being done. It needs to be done soon, I so agree with you. Maybe Mangano will see this and do something, then again if we lived in Bethpage, it would of been done already.
