Two-car Crash on Old Country Road Sends Victim to NUMC

Late afternoon collision takes place near library.

At least one person was injured in a two-car crash on Old Country Road Saturday afternoon, Plainview firefighters said.

The collision took place about 4:30 p.m. at Old Country Road and Joel Place, near the Plainview Library.

Firefighters arrived to find a red Toyota on the south side of the street and a beige Subaru over the curb and into bushes on the north side of the thoroughfare.

Multiple police and ambulances responded as Plainview firefighters assisted in rescue efforts and traffic control, firefighters said.

One person was transported to Nassau University Medical Center with injuries, firefighters said. The victim's condition was not immediately available.
