1. Prescription drug sting: Seventeen people, including eight at a CVS pharmacy in Hicksville, face felony charges of forging prescriptions at various pharmacies throughout Nassau County.

2. Rabbis Urge Patience: The spiritual leaders of many area synagogues are urging their congregations not to rush to judgment in the wake of allegations against a prominent catering firm.

3. JFK Boys in Playoffs: For the first time in eight years, the Plainview JFK Boys Basketball team made the Class AA playoffs. They played well before falling to Hicksville 51-47 Thursday.

4. Latest Burglary Spree: Nassau County Police are reporting eight new burglaries in the Plainview-Syosset-Hicksville area in a two-day span last week, including six on Friday, Feb. 10.

5. Fall Victim Airlifted: A contractor working for the Plainview Water District fell about 20 feet from a ladder and had to be airlifted from the scene. The man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is recovering.
