The Town of Oyster Bay will host the Battle at Bethpage III, a college lacrosse celebration slated to be held at Bethpage High School on Saturday, April 6.
The event will feature two outstanding games, a women’s matchup between the LIU Post Pioneers and the Merrimack College Ultimate Warriors at 10 a.m. and a men’s contest between the St. John’s University Red Storm and the Georgetown Hoyas at 2 p.m., Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto announced.
“Long Island has long been known as a stronghold for lacrosse, and here in the Town of Oyster Bay, we are proud to partner with the Bethpage Educational Foundation and the Bethpage School District and bring to our facilities these high level collegiate lacrosse contests,” Venditto said.
General admission tickets will be available on game day at the field with proceeds going to Bethpage Educational Foundation, Inc. Donation for adults will be $10 and children 12 and under will be $5. Attendees are also being asked to bring two cans of food to help support Island Harvest as part of the “LAX Fights Hungers” initiative.
Venditto said he is already looking forward to the games. “It should be a great experience and a lot of fun for the players and the fans,” he said.
Venditto expressed his appreciation to all those who helped make it possible, including the Oyster Bay Parks Department and the Bethpage School District.
