Farmer's Market Returning to Hicksville

Now in it's 3rd year, the open air market is near to Plainview and offers a wide range of products.

In just over a week, the Hicksville Farmer’s Market will return to nearby Hicksville with a wide variety of fresh products produced regionally.

officials said the regional producers will be offering fresh products including vegetables, fish, shellfish, herbs, fruits, jams, fresh bread, baked goods, eggs, cheeses, pickles, maple syrup, allergy-sensitive baked goods, all natural dog treats, and more.

The market, now in its third year, is located at Kennedy Memorial Park on Broadway and Jerusalem avenues, beginning Sunday June 24. It runs through Nov. 18, from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

“There is nothing quite like wandering around a genuine farmers market and being surrounded by the sights, sounds, and smells,” said Oyster Bay Town Councilwoman , of Plainview..

“We are very excited about the 2012 Farmer’s Market season in Hicksville, and are happy to offer fresh fish and shellfish in addition to all the great produce we have had to offer in the past” said Bernadette Martin, Director of Friends & Farmers Inc.

Long Island produce will be available from Young’s Farm - Glen Cove, Stan-Pat Farmers of Manorville, and Carucci Greenhouses of Mattituck.

The Farmer’s Market accepts SNAP/EBT benefits, debit cards, WIC and senior checks from the New York State Famer’s Market Nutrition Programs. The Market will be administered by Long Beach based Friends & Farmers Inc.
