LIRR Expects Delays Tuesday Morning

Train derailed west of Jamaica; service likely to be impacted.

The Long Island Rail Road is expected delays and cancellations Tuesday morning after a derailment Monday night west of Jamaica Station.

LIRR customers are being advised to allow extra travel time and check traffic reports Tuesday morning. The LIRR expects some train cancellations will result following the derailment of a non-passenger train west of Jamaica Station Monday. No one was hurt in the incident, the railroad said.

That will impact trains on both the Ronkonkoma and Port Jefferson lines that run through Hicksville Station.
