Mattlin Student Honored by Hannon

Takes top honors in Senator's "There Ought to Be A Law" contest.

Francesca Mauro-Walsh, a student at , was recently awarded first place in 2012 “There Ought To Be A Law” Competition.  The contest honors ideas for new laws, as conceived by local fifth and sixth grade students from schools in Hannon’s Senate District.

At Levittown Hall in Hicksville, the first place winners from each school were presented with a Citation from Hannon. Francesca's proposed law reads as follows: “There should be no expiration dates on gift cards. If you paid for it you should be able to keep it as long as you like.”
